Social Signal Monitor
Effective 23 August 2026
Purpose and scope
Social Signal Monitor is private, single-user, non-commercial software used to evaluate whether public cryptocurrency discussion patterns have measurable paper outcomes. It has no customers, advertising, subscriptions, fees, or resale of data. It does not provide a service to third parties.
Social results are isolated from the live trading engine. They cannot access exchange credentials, place orders, or automatically enter live execution.
Current public sources
The application reads public CoinGecko trending-search results and public Bluesky posts through their supported read-only interfaces. It does not post, react, follow, message, or modify content. CoinGecko attention and Bluesky discussion measurements remain distinguishable in stored results.
Reddit access
The application requests read-only access to new public posts from r/CryptoCurrency, r/CryptoMarkets, r/Bitcoin, r/ethereum, and r/solana. Collection runs no more than once every 15 minutes and requests at most 100 posts per cycle.
It does not post, comment, vote, send private messages, access private content, or perform automated activity on Reddit. It uses one registered OAuth application and an identifiable user agent.
Data processed
Public post titles and bodies are processed transiently to identify supported coin names and calculate deterministic attention, sentiment, engagement, and manipulation-risk measurements. Raw post titles and bodies are not stored. Reddit usernames are not collected or stored.
When selective semantic research is triggered, a bounded batch of public post text and aggregate market context is transmitted to the OpenAI API for structured classification. API response storage is disabled. The application retains only the resulting coin-level catalyst, direction, credibility, timeframe, uncertainty, manipulation-risk, and operational usage measurements.
Retained social fields are limited to post identifiers and content hashes, subreddit, timestamps, public engagement counts, permalink, matched coin, source, and aggregate measurements. The application does not store social usernames, infer sensitive personal characteristics, identify individuals, or combine social data with off-platform personal identifiers.
Retention and deletion
- Social observations are automatically deleted after 30 days.
- Operational collection records are automatically deleted after 30 days.
- Derived recommendations, outcomes, and completed paper trades are deleted after 180 days.
- Market price observations are deleted after 90 days.
If Reddit access is revoked or discontinued, collection stops and stored Reddit data and associated derived records will be deleted. Data is not retained beyond the stated application purpose.
AI, sharing, and monetization
The primary scoring process remains deterministic. Selected public content may be processed by a hosted language model only as a paper-research classification step. The application does not train or fine-tune a model with social content, and model classifications cannot access exchange credentials, place orders, or affect live trading. Social data is not sold, licensed, published, or monetized.
Security
The operational dashboard is private and PIN-protected. Stored data is kept in a dedicated database with server access controls, and any source credentials are held separately as environment secrets. The public can read this notice but cannot access the dashboard or collected data.
